During this time mentees and mentor(s) engage in regular communication either about specific problems that arise from life’s challenges, tips and strategies learned in the trainings, or to talk through some of the broader challenges they are facing personally.

Fit Kids Wellness Program:

Obesity has a profound effect on a child’s life. Obesity increases the child’s risk of numerous health problems, and it also creates emotional and social problems. Obese children are also more likely to be obese as adults, increasing their risk of serious health problems such as heart disease and stroke.

Wellness services are essential tool for improving student achievement. According to research conducted by ETR Associates, students enrolled in wellness programs reported fewer health risk factors and perform better academically compared to students who were not enrolled in such programs.
